Many of us feel we are doing everything possible to heal, yet we still find ourselves burdened by pain, leading to stagnation, frustration, and confusion. “Your Role in Healing” highlights the importance of self-awareness and the factors hindering mental, physical, and emotional recovery. Often, we remain unaware that our own patterns and habits contribute to our stagnation.
At times, we may not recognize our inner strength, or we might feel disconnected from our healers. Additionally, we may not fully grasp how various life situations allow pain and illness to manifest in our bodies, leaving us oblivious to the issues that are negatively affecting us. By acknowledging the self-work necessary for our growth, we can enhance our chances of achieving the healing we desire from ourselves, practitioners, yoga classes, massage therapists, craniosacral therapists, talk therapists, and more.

How to Get Out of Your Own Way

We are like magicians, skillfully hiding the truth from ourselves to avoid facing personal growth. We employ various tactics to escape the work required for self-improvement, such as blatantly ignoring our needs or sabotaging our progress. We will understand how important it is to recognize how we have cleverly learned to create obstacles and stagnation that stand in our way. Surprisingly, many of us engage in this behavior to evade growth and the journey toward becoming our true selves. We will explore the many ways we hide from ourselves and tools to gently encourage us to open up.
Self Awareness: How mental & emotional stress translates to physical pain

Self-awareness is essential for healing. It helps us recognize how mental and emotional stress affects our physical bodies, leading to discomfort. For instance, anger may cause hip or rib pain, while fear & fright can lead to lower back aches & rapid heartbeat. Sometimes, we might feel physical pain first and then the related emotion. This section explores the connection between emotions and physical discomfort, providing guidance for releasing stress and healing pain. We will look at Traditional Chinese Medicine’s theory on emotions and illness and dive into the Chakra system.
Co-Healing: Role of the client & healer.

A healer is not someone who heals you directly; rather, they help you understand how to heal yourself. When we visit healers, we often forget that we have a significant role in our healing journey—we play the main role. We speak about the importance of considering how we work in partnership with our healers to achieve effective healing. I have realized that a lack of understanding about the work we must do ourselves often halts healing.
